DFB Pokal Final 2017

DFB Pokal Final 2017DFB Pokal Final 2017 – Borussia Dortmund v Eintracht Frankfurt kick-off time and live streaming. BVB may have finished third in the race for the Bundesliga title, but with the quality they have in the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Marco Reus and Ousmane Dembele, they have to be considered heavy favourites here. Eintracht Frankfurt are no pushovers, but their final league position of 11th was ultimately a disappointing one and their end of season form has been very poor in the Bundesliga as they’ve picked up just one point from their last four games.

The 2017 DFB Pokal is the fourth-straight final for Dortmund. Since winning the DFB Pokal in 2012, the Black and Yellows reached the DFB Pokal Final for four straight years after getting eliminated by Bayern in the 2013 quarterfinals. Dortmund lost 2-0 to Bayern in 2014, 3-1 to Wolfsburg in 2015 and 4-3 in penalties to Bayern last year. Saturday’s final is the third Frankfurt vs. Dortmund game of the season. Each team has a win over the other in 2016-17 Bundesliga season. Frankfurt defeated Dortmund on Nov. 26, 2016, with a score of 2-1 at the Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt while Dortmund got one back on April 15 at the Signal Iduna Park when they ran rampant against Frankfurt and beat them 3-1.

As for Borussia Dortmund, they finished in third, so already have an automatic spot in European competition. However, despite booking their spot for next season’s Champions League, die Schwarzgelben will want to wrap up this term by clinching the DFB-Pokal. Having lost the last three in a row, Thomas Tuchel’s side will be loath to make it a fourth defeat at the Olympiastadion, especially after getting some revenge on Bayern by knocking them out during the semi-finals. The Eagles have won this competition four times in their history but the most recent DFB Pokal win came back in 1988 and a whole generation of fans are yet to see the club pick up any silverware, so they’ll be desperate to get their hands on trophy this weekend.
